Boost performance on & off the field

Cogito represents a new way of thinking about cognitive enhancement, athletic performance, and fat loss. While there is no shortage of fat-loss products on the market, most of them rely heavily on stimulants that kill your appetite but make you jittery and unfocused. On the other side of the coin, we've seen our share of cognitive enhancers, but they're far more appropriate for e-games than the Olympic Games.

In truth, Cogito was originally meant to be a cognition enhancer. We were looking to formulate a product that would help us think more clearly and focus on everything from snatch technique to studying. But when we started researching and discovering the most effective ingredients to give us that mental edge, we were surprised to discover that we were already familiar with most of them - because we found the same ones that help athletes gain a physical edge in everything from endurance training, to sprint performance, to fat-loss.

Green Tea, for example, has been shown to increase the body's thermogenic fat-burning activity, and significantly reduce total body fat. Most people know this already, as it's one of the most popular fat-burning ingredients in the world. It's hypothesized that this ability to boost whole body fat oxidation would result in a glycogen-sparing effect, and increased endurance. But despite Green Tea's popularity for its physical effects, what most people don't realize is that it also boosts mental clarity, memory and attention span, plus general brain function. It even works to elevate your mood!

Green tea also helps moderate cortisol (the stress hormone). Cortisol doesn't just make it harder to gain muscle, it can also cause you to store more adipose (fat) tissue, and even cause you to have decreased cognitive functioning. Ever get stressed and find that you can't focus in the gym, start missing lifts, and finding that your body composition starts slipping? That can all be related to excessive cortisol levels. Cortisol is further reduced by the Triol-DHEA in Cogito, and we also added red sage (salvia miltiorrhiza) to help block cortisol at the receptor level.

Phosphatidylserine is another ingredient that we just couldn't leave out of this formula, because like the others, it serves the dual purpose of enhancing both physical and mental performance. It's been shown to help users feel more energetic, clear-headed, and composed. But it's also been studied in athletes and shown to increase time to exhaustion and sprint performance, while decreasing muscle soreness.

Finally, Coleus forskohlii increases cyclic adenosine monophosphate, which can trigger a cascade of signalling molecules that lead to both increased cognition and fat loss, but also mitochondrial biogenesis. You might be unfamiliar with that term, but you almost certainly remember the mitochondria from high-school biology class: they're the cell's powerhouse. And when you increase their density, your muscles (and your brain) can perform more work over a longer period of time.

In formulating Cogito, we relied on ingredients that not only complimented each other, but also served a dual purpose: to boost your performance in training and competition, but also in the classroom or boardroom.
